Another one bites the dust…NEXT!!

It seems so typical that every time a celebrity passes away some clown comes out of the woodwork and tries to say that the person “owed” them money. The newest person to try and get money from Michael Jackson’s estate is long time “friend”, Raymone Bain.
Bain who was also a publicist for Jackson, claims that he owed her $44 million in back wages and profit sharing. Today Michael Jackson’s estate sent her back a nice ol’ letter with big red letters, “DENIED”.
Good day, Ms. Bain.
The estate is expecting more denied claims to be issued soon.
A friend would give his wallet a break!

If he owed her money why is she just now coming out with this almost a year later? Ugh people are so freaking shady it’s ridiculous. If I was owed 44 million dollars by someone who passed I wouldn’t wait a year to ask for my money.
Does anyone else find it interesting that when MJ first died they said he was in debt up to $500 million dollars and then about a month and a half ago it was down to $20-30 million. How they heck can you go from 500 million to 20 million? That is a huge gap!!! And then it might not even be that much because a lot of the claims are probably bogus anyway. Tsk-tsk to the world. (I have been saying that a lot lately lol it’s my new phrase)
April 21, 2010 at 2:31 am
44 million back wages for her job is absurd!! She wasn’t even with him that long-but even a lifetime would be rediculous.
I’m glad the estate rejected it and will be rejecting other goofy claims. At least they’re not paying everything!
April 24, 2010 at 10:17 pm
Hum! About time someone knocks some kind of sense into these greedy fools. I have read that some ridiculous claims come out of nowhere and everywhere, even including John Landis for work done on the Thriller video !!!!! and R. Kelly for whatever else! Some people have no scrupules! Anything, Anything, anything for Monnney… listen to Micheal’s song on the BOTDF album. NEXT Please!
April 26, 2010 at 1:47 pm
Well, it’s no secret that MJ owed money to people. It seems in later years he didn’t keep up with payments, which is really sad, given his financial state.
I’m glad all the sales of CD’s and TII after his death has helped lower the dept, so that his kids don’t have to deal with that.
But 44 million, Ms Bain … Well, everything is bigger in America!
April 26, 2010 at 4:30 pm
I’m guessing that the people who worked for him are at fault-Can’t see him writing out checks for all of HIS bills.
He was very upset when caught on to Thome controling his money. I guess when you’re dealing with millions it’s just different than those of us who have to watch our check books regularly.
I don’t really understand, but I’m glad the estate is turning down some claims. It’s been awful.
April 26, 2010 at 5:28 pm
I agree. He had people who handled his bills for him. I also think that people might have said they payed the bills but extorted the money for themselves. I bet you that happened more often than not. Michael Jackson did not write his own checks for bills and what not. He did not have the time.
April 27, 2010 at 9:04 pm
It’s sad how people are/were always making excuses for him. Of course it was his responsibility to see to it that people got paid.
There are other stars/rich people who don’t sign the actual checks but they are able to keep an eye on their finances and make sure everything is in balance.
Don’t get me wrong, I love MJ. But I’m not blind to his faults. I find it sad that he didn’t stay on top of things. Like Neverland, he just up and left it, animals and everything, and the staff there were not paid. People need to get paid for their work so they can pay their rent etc, no matter if it’s Michael Jackson they work for.
He was not free of those responsibilities.
April 27, 2010 at 11:32 pm
All these people are right on. I felt especially bad for the people who worked at Neverland What did they do with all the animals anyway??
I’m sure most were loyal to him.
I know he was in an awful state after the trial. He didn’t want much to do with his family then either. They stood by him for all the months of that rediculous trial. He was probably really tired of them being so close all the time, but I think he owed them-not money but appreciation of some kind. Maybe I’m way off base-if I am forgive me.
I also read that all of the many awards he had won over the yrs were stuffed in a closet-bent and broken.
That deep a depression combined with ‘downers’ or whatever he took is so terrible to deal with!
April 28, 2010 at 5:19 am
I agree with what you’re saying, especially about the family. I think perhaps he got tired of them ‘nagging’ him about the drug use.
The animals at Neverland were just left, when he left the country after the trial. Animal rights’ groups were very critical of how he handled it.
I think they were scattered at different zoo’s and things as time went along.
April 28, 2010 at 3:05 pm
Annie,
You are very right! No excuses for the man we love so much lol
Have a great day =D
April 28, 2010 at 3:12 pm
Annie
You’re probably right re the the family nagging.. It’s hard not to when you love somebody.
I saw a video of Messereau saying that he advised him to leave the country because he thought that Sneddon would continue to persecute him because he ‘lost face’ in the trial. I can totally believe that!!
I think Messereau is terrific, esp the way he speaks out for Michael and how much he liked him.
April 28, 2010 at 6:34 pm
Yes, it’s typical addict behaviour to shy away from loved ones because they want to be left alone with it.
Meseraeu, ah I adore him! Great man!

The animals were checked and found to be fine.
It was a few months AFTER June 25th when two
of the jiraffes died in someone else’s care.

PETA, April-09:
“Too bad he still has a spotty past when it comes to compassion for animals. It had been widely reported that Jackson planned to ride an elephant on stage and use panthers, but subjecting animals to amplified noise, bright lights, and the fast pace of a massive concert production is cruel. Plus, his rap sheet from the not-too-distant past includes dumping his chimpanzee, Bubbles, with a Hollywood trainer. And many of the animals he left behind at Neverland Ranch ended up being sold at auction, despite repeated offers from PETA to help place them in sanctuaries. His orangutans were reportedly sold to a private owner in Connecticut, two of his alligators are languishing at the disgusting G.W. Exotic Animal Park, his giraffes in the care of a private owner in Arizona are on the verge of being evicted, and more.”
http://blog.peta.org/archives/2009/04/michael_jackson.php
CNN, March-06:
“California officials have fined Michael Jackson nearly $170,000 and ordered employees at the pop star’s Neverland Ranch to stop working, after finding that employees had not been paid since December and the ranch’s workers’ compensation coverage had been allowed to lapse.”
“If the back wages and penalties aren’t paid by March 14, the department “will pursue appropriate legal action,” the letter said.
Jackson has not been living at Neverland in recent months. Shortly after he was acquitted on child molestation charges in June, he relocated to Bahrain, a small nation in the Persian Gulf.
Dean Fryer, a spokesman for the California Department of Industrial Relations, told CNN Thursday that the agency is investigating approximately 47 complaints from employees about unpaid wages. It was during that investigation that state officials discovered that Neverland no longer had workers’ compensation coverage, he said.
“There have been ongoing problems with wages at Neverland, but we were surprised the ranch would let its workers’ comp policy lapse as well,” Fryer said.”
“If a new policy is secured, Jackson will have five days to appeal the “stop work” order and get clearance for employees to return to work. State investigators will be monitoring the situation at Neverland to ensure employee safety.”

US Authorities are not known to take animal welfare very seriously. Their check ups are not very thorough, unfortunately.

LOL
Well, Daikini — I can see you are one of those who like to find fault with his family and bash them.
Michael withdrew from his friends, too. Again, typical addict behaviour.
I know it’s hard for some fans to realize that he had a problem.
I don’t think there’s much point in the two of us discussing anymore. We clearly see the world totally different, and I’m kind of tired of discussing with people who think Michael was an angel and did nothing wrong.
I think perhaps there is a tendency to find excuses and explanations for every controversial thing in Michael’s life because we WANT him to be good. Since he is such a good artist, we think there must be some hidden treasure in his soul, some purpose, a heart of gold, a meaning, a misunderstood prince. And although all that is true to some extent, I think perhaps there is a tendency to exaggerate, especially now that he is dead. There is a willingness to make right the wrongs we feel he suffered, and to do that, we want to show ourselves and others a BETTER Michael than most people saw, and in the process I think perhaps we overlook the bad things. In my opinion, there is no need for that.

“PETA is accusing Michael Jackson of animal cruelty. It would like to see the
Neverland zoo closed down after aerial pictures were released apparently showing – among
other things – a giraffe standing a pool of it’s own blood, elephants
standing in poo and an alligator swimming in a pool just slightly wider
than itself. PETA has sent a letter to the US Department of Agriculture
requesting an investigation, and PETA spokesperson Lisa Wathne said:
“These photos make it clear that the animals are
being held in what can only be described as cruel conditions. They are abysmal and little more than holding cells. My message to
Michael Jackson would be to close this place down and relocate the
animals to an accredited zoo or sanctuary.”
http://www.hecklerspray.com/peta-yells-at-michael-jacksons-zoo-of-cruelty/20062010.php
“Nearly all of the animals have been moved to new homes in the past few years as Jackson’s personal and financial woes worsened, with animal rights activists saying some have become roadside attractions in uncertain conditions.
Bubbles, once the world’s best known ape who slept in the superstar’s bedroom and mastered his Moonwalk dance, has lived since 2005 at the Center for Great Apes in Florida, the head of the sanctuary said.
Jackson did not provide financial support for Bubbles and, despite his stated desire, never visited him there, said Patti Ragan, director of the Center for Great Apes.
“To this date, all donations for his care have come from the Center for Great Ape?s supporters. We depend on donations in order to care for all our animals in need,” she said.”
“Jackson rescued Bubbles from a Texas medical laboratory where he was bought by Bob Dunn, a Hollywood animal trainer. Jackson returned Bubbles to Dunn after the singer had children, who risk being injured by a large chimp.”
“Lisa Wathne, PETA’s specialist in captive exotic animals, voiced particular concern about two of Jackson’s orangutans sent to a private owner in Connecticut and reptiles at a roadside zoo in Oklahoma.
She said Jackson’s case showed why wild animals should not be kept as pets.
“All too often even people who start with good intentions, as Michael Jackson certainly did, don’t have the ability to properly care for these animals,” she said.
“And unfortunately in Michael Jackson’s case he did apparently run into financial problems that ultimately led to his animals being disbursed to places all over the world. We don’t know, frankly, where most of them ended up.”
http://www.vivapets.com/blog/questions_mount_over_michael_jackson_animal_kingdo/71
“People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) bosses claim four giraffes, which once belonged to Jacko, have been confined in cramped pens at an unlicensed facility in Arizona for over a year – and they’re hoping a plea to the pop superstar will prompt him to take action.
The PETA powers have written to the King of Pop and asked him to intervene on the animals’ behalf.
A spokesman tells WENN, “When Jackson faced recent financial troubles, the giraffes were sold to a couple in Page, Arizona, who were reportedly planning to set up a zoo.
“More than a year later, the giraffes are still confined to pens that allegedly each measure approximately 15 feet by 15 feet, and the animals reportedly have not been receiving adequate veterinary or husbandry care.
“If Michael could see the giraffes’ plight for himself, I’m sure he’d agree that it’s bad – really, really bad. The giraffes may be out of Michael’s life, but he has a responsibility to see that they don’t suffer.”
http://www.taletela.com/news/814/peta-urge-michael-jackson-to-save-his-giraffes
“It’s all over now, but there’s a message that’s relevant to all potential owners of exotic animals: you need to think very carefully before taking them on. Think about the animal’s life span (50 to 70 years for a chimp). Think about its needs. Can you really supply the right environment, diet and care for a wild animal? Consider the situation from the animal’s point of view, not from your own. How many pets are bought as trophies, for their owners to enjoy the attention that they bring with them? Even if you have vast wealth and resources, it’s surely far better to leave them in the wild, where they’re meant to be.”
http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/peterwedderburn/100001424/whats-happened-to-michael-jacksons-family-of-animals/
I think most people would agree that keeping exotic animals as pets are not good. Keeping a chimp in a house, dressing him up, drinking tea with him – not a natural life, is it?
But of course fans think that is perfectly okay.
In my opinion there’s not much point in singing Earth Song when you can’t see what’s right in front of you.

Remember the huge yellow Boa that got out of hie cage at a home in Floride last yr.? It killed their four yr old daughter. They got it when it was little and as animals do it grew too big to manage-it did have a cage, but got it open. Recently people in FL have been unloading their huge snakes in the marsh lands and they’ve been breeding-of course.
I recall something happened to that killed most of the snakes but I can’t recall what. I don’t know how many are left but one is too many!
What are people thinking when they but these baby snakes?

Susan, love your blog and nice to see that he had a friend who had his best interests at heart. Was wondering if you have any thoughts about Arnie Klein and his assistant Jason coming out and taking to EXTRA about Jason and Michael’s alleged romantic relationship and how they “needed to set the record straight?” Sometimes from what I read, I think Arnie was a good friend to him, other times I have no idea how he could have been in any capacity.
